November 17th was Premature Awareness Day. Jake and I took Annie to the NICU for a dinner with Jennifer our favorite March of Dimes person and other mom and dads that had babies in the NICU and there was also another graduate there...Lily. It was really nice to see the parents because we could give advise and ease some of their fears about having a baby in the NICU. It is so hard for me to believe that it has been a whole year since I was taken to the hospital. I know that Annie and had to go through alot when we were there but honestly I would not trade the experience for anything. I think that a lot of people take having a baby for granted and they think that they just get pregnant and have a baby and never think about the bad things that can and do happen. I has always been easy for me to get pregnant but it was hard for me to stay pregnant and when I got to 12 weeks I always felt safe and I never thought that there was a chance that I would have a baby at 29.4 weeks. Annie is the light of my life, my other kids are too but with Annie I think that she is more special or special in a different way because I came so close to losing her.

Annie is a Flutterfly!!!
It has been a lttle while since I wrote last and there has been a lot going on with our family and with Analee. She had her first Halloween and her first pumpkin that she helped carve and eat. She is crawlng all over and on the 7th of November she got her first tooth. She is getting so big and where has the time gone because next month she is going to be a whole year old next month. We are going to be going to OHSU on
Tuesday for Premature Awareness Day. I am so thankful for everything that Doernbecher's has done for our family and if there is anything that I can do to make sure that every baby is born healthy and does not need to spend one minute in the NICU then I will but until that day, I am so thankful for all of the people at the NICU for all that they do for all of the babies and everything that they did for Annie so that we could bring our little miracle home. Annie went to the doctor yesterday and she is offcally 13lbs and 1oz. She has gained a few more ounces then ten pounds since she has been born. They did not measure how tall that she was this time but we will find that out next month at her one year check. She did have the second have of her flu shot so that is one less thing that we will have to worry about and now she just has to get her RSV shot and then I can rest a little easier during flu season. It is just amazing to me all that Annie has been through in her short little life and how proud that I am her mom and she is my daughter and I love how she is so serous when she looks at someone like she taking everything that they are doing or saying in and then when she smiles she smiles with her whole face. She loves everything about her life and that is good because she fought so hard for it.
